The seed for this puzzle (39-Across) was suggested by my partner Hope earlier this week. It fit nicely into this funky grid shape I had been playing with, so I ran with it!
Clues should (hopefully) make you want to pull your hair out considerably less than a normal themeless, and I hope they make you smile.
