🎉 Happy Little Puzzles turns 1 year old tomorrow!
It's been a heck of a year, both on this little site and in the Puzzleverse at large. Looking back on the work I've shared here so far makes me smile, and I hope it does for you too. I'm especially proud to have featured puzzles by 28 (!) guest constructors — I started this site with the intention of sharing it with others, and I'm excited to continue that trend into HLP Year 2. If you're interested in puzzle making and/or having a puzzle of any size published here, especially if you are a member of an underrepresented or marginalized group in crosswords, please don't hesitate to reach out 😊
Today's challenging themeless is a collab with the great Caitlin Reid, and it's proof that if you send fan mail to constructors you admire, you sometimes get the pleasure of working with them! I pitched this collab to Caitlin over Facebook, and I'm thrilled that we got to work together on it. If you haven't had the chance to enjoy her puzzles elsewhere, absolutely make sure you fix that — they're among my very favorites. (I'd recommend starting with this recent New Yorker gem.)
Happy solving,
-Matthew
From Caitlin: "I wouldn't pass up an opportunity to collab with Matthew, especially when he sent me this killer middle section as a starting point. We had a lot of fun cramming good stuff into this one. I hope you enjoy it and that this first collaboration together won't be the last!"
